I am sure you all have read Dr. Suess' book, "How I Run the Zoo". Well I am not sure how to run the zoo, but here is how we got the zoo.
First Jenn wants a dog. Christmas 2004 we get a family dog, Sparky.
Then poor Sparky needs a friend and along came Sadie.
Two dogs isn't bad.
The girls started wanting a hamster. Sure, why not?? They are small and don't live to awful long. Brian's cousins get Hanna and Abbey all the stuff for hamsters for Christmas 2010.
Well, maybe we don't want hamsters.
Hanna, "Can I get a lizard?"
Abbey, "Can I get a bird?"
Now we have gone from small animals that only live up to three years to larger ones that live longer, much longer.
Brian says,"YES" (he forgot that he is the NO parent. He is supposed to say no!!)
So we return the hamster cages and wait for the perfect pets to come along.
Brian's co-worker needs to get rid of a chinchilla, Chi Chi, for her grandson who is ill and can't have his beloved pet any longer. Brian says "YES"
So along came Chi Chi the chinchilla.
Soon we after we got Oreo, Megan's geriatric hamster. We had no idea that he was already 2 1/2 years old when we got him. (remember they only live up to about 3 years)
Not long after Oreo,we got Squaky Talky, Abbey's bird.
Then Feb. rolls around and Hanna has enough $$ to finally get a bearded dragon!! The first one we got didn't last long. Poor little guy! The second one we got was about 5 or 6 months old and it was love at first sight for Hanna. Gus was hers!!
Then Oreo died. Megan got Sierra, the dwarf hamster, that enjoyed nibbling on Megan. Sierra went back to the pet store for rude behavior!
Megan wanted another hamster but was terrified she would get another biter. She soon decided guinea pigs were more for her. And along came Tigger, the guinea pig.
There we were a happy family of six with six animals....yes we are crazy!!
One morning things were a bit quiet in the house. Squaky Talky had passed away. Now we are down to five animals.
Abbey wants a tortoise.
Brian said the chinchilla has to go first. Anyone want a chinchilla???
The truth is the girls are attached to Chi Chi so it isn't like we can really get rid if him, right?
