Silverwood

We drove up to Coeurd' Alene Idaho for a fun filled three day weekend. We rented a tepee in a RV park right downtown. We got there late Thursday night arriving in the middle of a massive downpour!! Brian was quickly schooled on how to close the top of the tepee, well as much as a tepee top will close that is. Megan was terrified to sleep in the tepee! She had fallen asleep on the drive and then woke up by the storm when we arrived so she was totally out of it and wanted her bed!! Poor girl!! The other girls were so excited that they didn't want to sleep. It took awhile to get all settled down for the night.

Friday we were planing on going to Silverwood but the weather reports were NOT good and the chances of them having to close the park were high so we decided to play tourists instead. We headed off for downtown (window)shopping and sight seeing. We learned about the moose and the mouse that is from the children's book, "Mudgy & Millie" that takes place in Coeurd' Alene. We followed the moose trial and read the book as we went. What a wonderful idea!! This is a picture of us with Mudgy and Millie.

It actually turned out to be a nice day out. We played games with our camping neighbors from Canada, really neat family! Then Friday night Brian took Hanna and Abbey to BMX racing and stunt show. They thought it was awesome!! Megan, Amber and I stayed at the tepee and waited for Grandma Karin to join us. She got there just in time to play "Snorta" with the Canadians. (great, funny game) We laughed and laughed as we played!! It was so fun. Grandma Karin isn't a board game person and so it was extra special that she played!!

Saturday we went to Silverwood!!! It is a theme park with lots of rides and water park. The weather was NOT warm enough to go to the water slides!! In fact I think the weather was better on Friday, weatherman got a bit mixed up!! By going on Saturday it meant that Grandma Karin got to go with us!!! Yeahhhh!! She even rode on a few rides!! (she is getting adventurous. Games and rides all in one weekend!!) It was a very busy day at the park!! Over 9000 people and no one at the water park side. So lines were long and rides seemed short, but it was a terrific day!! Thanks for reading so much Hanna, Abbey, and Megan, and earning free tickets so we could go!!! And thanks Grandma Karin for all the goodies!!

Sunday we went to breakfast with my cousin Lindsay that lives there and then had to say good bye to Grandma Karin and head home. Really was a fabulous weekend!! And staying in the tepee was a blast!!
